Castan - Joyce L.(Backora) August 9, 1933 - May 18, 2020 86 years of Omaha Preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Fred A. Castan; parents Anton and Lucille Backora; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Helen Backora, Ted and Loretta Backora, Joe and Ailie Backora; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Rod Brown. Joyce or "Jotcee," as Fred lovingly nicknamed her, was surrounded at the end with loving care by her daughters Lori and Cheryl; son-in-law John, and her grandson Cooper. With the support of the Endless Journey Hospice Home Care Team, the last week and a half that we spent with her was an experience that we shall never forget! Jotcee was a wonderful woman and a very loving mom. She was for sure an optimist, a glass half full kind of gal. She loved life and her family. She had the most beautiful smile and she smiled a lot! Jotcee was fun to be around; always ready for an adventure. She adored Las Vegas, decorating the house for Christmas, listening to music, and fireworks on the 4th. She was selfless, gracious, generous, and oh so very kind! Jotcee had a huge heart! And that's why she will live forever in our hearts and in our memories. Until we meet again, you will be missed every single day that no words can ever fully express. We love you! We love you! We love you! Private family services will be held.
