PIERCY II, William “Bob” R. of Omaha Aug. 1, 1925 ~ Mar. 30, 2014 Bob was a member of the “Greatest Generation”, who selflessly volunteered for the Navy during WWII and served in the South Pacific. He joined the Nebraska State Patrol in 1949, serving 36 ½ years and retired as Captain of Troop A. Bob was a 60-year member of Bethany Lutheran Church and served the church he loved in many ways. Preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy (Lenser) Piercy; parents, Virgil E. & Imogene (Hill) Piercy; brother, Virgil E. Piercy; son-in-law, James W. Daily. Survived by, wife, Margaret (Sherman) Piercy and best furry pal, Wally. His children, Christine Daily, Kathy (Mark) Johnson, William (Jean) Piercy, Amy (Eric) Carlstedt; grandchildren, Victor (Natasha) Stava, Sean Herek, Megan (Jason) Miller, Erika (Adam) Buchanan, Kyle Herek, Christie Daily, Mason Busboom-Piercy, Amber Piercy, Hannah, Mary & Sam Carlstedt; brother-in-law, Ron (Fran) Lenser; many honorary children and grandchildren, five great-grandchildren (with two more on the way) and many dear nieces & nephews.
