Tracy Matson, age 63, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025 at Josie Harper Hospice House. He is survived by his wife, Jamie; son, Joshua (Brittany) Matson; daughter, Samantha (Adam) Peterson; grandchildren, Kaylynn, Kallie, Chris, Sloane, Thea and Asher; parents, Duane and Sharon Matson and sister, Collette (Brett) Barnett.

Tracy graduated from Story City High School in 1980. He went on to attend Des Moines Area Community College and received his Associates Degree in computer science. He moved to Omaha, NE for a job opportunity and started a long career in computer science. His final position was as an IT manager for CLAAS. While in Omaha he met his wife, Jamie, through a mutual friend in 1986. They were married the following year in 1987. Their family grew with the birth of their son, Joshua, in December 1989. Followed by their daughter, Samantha, in March 1992. Tracy was a dedicated husband, father and Papa. Tracy was very involved in Cub Scouts with their son as a den leader. Then as an assistant leader in Boy Scouts while his son moved through the program, earning his Eagle his senior year in high school. He was also involved in coaching their daughter's volleyball team with Impact Volleyball Club. He enjoyed camping, riding his motorcycle and building his lake house alongside his wife. Over the past several years he and Jamie enjoyed traveling. But even more important, he loved his grandchildren, taking them for boat rides, Jeep rides to see "Lyle" the lama and teaching them to drive a golf cart.

A Gathering of Family and Friends to Celebrate Tracy's Life will be held on Saturday, December 20, from 1-3 pm at Braman Mortuary Millard Chapel, 6505 S 144th St., Omaha, NE

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that donations be made to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Omaha or the Josie Harper Hospice House.
