Torrance Peter Richter

Torrance passed away peacefully in the comforting presence of his loving family at Nebraska Medical Center following a brief illness.

Torrance was born in Devils Lake, ND and lived there until he was 4 years old. He moved to Bismarck, ND with his mother and older sister Melissa and attended schools there. They moved to Omaha, NE in July 1992 when his mother married Gary Norenberg and finished high school at Millard South in 1994.

He held jobs in the food industry through high school and after. He joined the Army in 1995 and did basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He was stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia. He was then stationed in Germany until 1998. When home in Omaha, he once again found work in the food industry.

He met and married Briana Dombrowsky. His much-loved son Benjamin was born April 05, 2003. In the next years he held a full time job and earned a business degree and a master's degree, attending Metro Community College and Bellevue University Lozier Professional Center in the Omaha metro. At his passing, he was employed as a Workforce Management Analyst at PayFlex and had been a single parent and BBF to Ben for several years.

He is survived by his son Benjamin Richter, parents Elise (Gary) Norenberg, Dwayne (Avis) Richter, his sister Melissa Richter, half-sisters Tracy Olson and Trisha Miller, half-brother Grant Norenberg, stepbrother Jerome Gussiags, and godmother Melinda Richter, plus many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, & his cat Phantom. He was preceded in passing by his infant son Jonathan, his grandparents Iver and Shirley Lundeby, Nick & Lena Richter, and several aunts, uncles, & cousins.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to your local animal shelter.
