Timothy Brian Boetger

Timothy Brian Boetger, son of Lowell and Mary Boetger passed away at his home in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 64. Tim was born August 25, 1961 and was raised in Millard, Nebraska.

Tim attended grade school, middle school, and high school in the Millard School District and later earned his GED. In 1979, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army and served his country, including a period of time stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany. Following his military service, Tim continued his education at Mitchell Technical College in Mitchell, South Dakota, where he earned a certificate in welding. He later attended Southeast Community College and received an associate degree in business. Tim was baptized at Faith Westwood United Methodist Church in Millard. Later in life, he attended Lifegate Church in Omaha, where he formed meaningful friendships and became part of a community he valued.Tim was a proud patriot who loved his country and was proud of his military service. He enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He also had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved cat, Tango, who held a special place in his heart.

Tim will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Lowell and Mary Boetger; sister Cheryl Messinger (Lance); brother Roger Boetger (Mary); half-brother Dave Sandvick (Vicki); half sister Gwen Jurgens; nieces Lindsey, Amanda, and Marie; nephew Tim; and his friend, Susan Jonsson, with whom he shared much time with over the past several years. He will also be remembered by his extended family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents; his nephew Zachary; and his beloved cat, Tango.

A Graveside Service with military honors will be held at Omaha National Cemetery August 26, 2026 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Tim’s memory may consider making a donation to a local animal rescue organization, Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnels to Towers or Patriot Guard Riders.

Tim’s love of country, loyalty to those he cared about, and affection for his family, friends, and animals will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
