Thomas "Tom" Kevin
Miller
Jan 5, 1957 — Oct 10, 2026
Thomas Kevin Miller was born on January 5, 1957, in Oswego, Kansas, to Clifford and Claudia Jean Miller. He was the brother of Catherine Smith and Suzy Lynch (Galon).
On July 7, 1984, Tom married Deborah K. Gaskin. Together, they built a life and raised five children: David (Lindsay), Bethany Johnson (Tina), Andrew, Brittany Dodds (Thomas), and Josh (Misty).
Tom loved being a Papa to Hope, Isaac, Mary, Emily, Jalie Jo, Aria, Lily, Chase, Lex, Finley, Leo, Cece, Wells, Calum, Gracie, Owen, Kody, Emma, and Maddie; and his great-grandchildren: Willhenette, Carter, and Amaya.
Tom proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1975 until his retirement in 1997, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his military career, he began working at Valmont Industries, where he worked from 1997 until 2023.
During retirement, Tom treasured spending time with his children and grandchildren and traveling with Deb, always holding her hand. He enjoyed fishing and exploring places that brought history to life. He traveled to England and one of his final trips with Deb and their children took them to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C., where he could immerse himself in the history he loved. No matter where his travels took him, Tom always made time for another passion: Pokémon GO. Whether exploring somewhere new or enjoying time with family, he always found time to catch Pokémon along the way.
He was preceded in death by his father Clifford, Mother Jean, his bonus mom, Betty Eichhorn. along with his in-laws, Lavon and Barbara Gaskin.
Tom will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, his love of history and adventure, and the many memories he created with those closest to him. His legacy will live on through the generations of family he loved and the moments they will forever cherish.
