Tammy Josephine Elizabeth Zagurski was born on February 1, 1969 in Omaha, NE. As a child she lived in the South Omaha and Millard areas and was a proud graduate of the Millard South Indians class of 1987. After graduation, Tammy followed her passion and enrolled in Xenon Academy where she became a cosmetologist, eventually returning to the academy to be an instructor and educate others.
Tammy made friends everywhere she went and remained close with most from all phases in her life. Tammy was kind, thoughtful, and always willing to help others without seeking credit or notoriety. When her health didn’t allow her to be behind the chair full time anymore, she was able to find new ways to fill her bucket. She gladly nannied for friends and did countless side jobs coiffing the perfect wedding hairdo, cut, or color.
Tammy was not only a daughter and sister, but she was an incredibly proud aunt to her nephews, Conner and Chase. She also cherished the children she nannied. She would brag about all of their accolades and appreciated remaining close to them in her later years.
Tammy’s health unfortunately provided her with challenges, but she was always ready to attend a family dinner, hang by the pool, or meet up with her fellow Indian classmates. She will always be remembered for her smile, wit, and infectious laugh. God blessed us with a fabulous daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Thank you for sharing her life with us.
Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents John and Virginia Zagurski and Floyd and Bessie Pacheco and her step-brother Brian White. She is survived by her parents Mike (Deb) Zagurski and Sandy (Gary) Steinbeck; her brother John (Dawne) and nephews Conner and Chase Zagurski; her step-brother David Steinbeck; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and her sweet cat JoJo.
