Sylvia L. Tallant

Sylvia L. Tallant, September 16, 1932 ~ February 9, 2026

Sylvia Tallant was born on September 16, 1932, in Rock Port, MO to Ethel Mae Harris Osborn and Richie Andrew Osborn. She was one of eleven children. She grew up in Rockport, MO before moving to Nebraska looking for work. Sylvia met her husband Sidney when her sister Margaret sent him to pick her up from the bus station. Sylvia would joke and say, “I am the original pick me up girl.” Sylvia and Sidney married on August 19, 1950, and had three curly red headed boys, Steven, Sidney (Skip) and Scott. The family lived in Carter Lake for awhile before they built their forever home in Springfield, NE in the 70’s. In Sylvia’s younger years she enjoyed going two stepping and square dancing. Once married Sylvia and Sidney would buy homes and fix them up and sell them. The two of them did this for many years as a hobby.

Sylvia passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, while at home in Springfield, NE surrounded by family. Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband Sidney Tallant and two sons Steven Tallant and Sidney (Skip) Tallant, both of her parents Ethal and Richie Osborn, all of her siblings Ella Osborn, Margaret Osborn Tallant, Frances Osborn Root, Peggy Osborn Waller, Gabriel Osborn Sr, Clifford Osborn, Wayne Osborn, Charles Osborn and George Osborn, many brother and sister in-laws as well. She is survived by her son Scott Tallant, grandchildren Angela Tallant, Nicholas Tallant(Jamie Mace), Amy Tallant, Starla Tallant, Allison Tallant, Great grandchildren, Justin Tallant, Miranda Smits, Alissia(Dylan) Nightster, Nikolas Tallant, Tasin Tallant, Nicholas Shields, Noah Shields, Lillian Kosiske, Logyn Kosiske, Leyton Kosiske and 4Great Great Grandchildren.

VISITATION: Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026 from 5-7:00PM at Braman Mortuary (Millard Chapel)

CELEBRATION OF SYLVIA'S LIFE: Monday, Feb. 16, 2026 at 10:30Am at Braman Mortuary (Millard Chapel)

INTERMENT: Springfield Cemetery, Springfield,Nebraska.
