Stoney Shotkoski

Jerome “Stoney” J. Shotkoski, 79, of Springfield, Nebraska, passed away on July 10, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Stoney was born on October 4, 1946, in Genoa, Nebraska. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandie Shotkoski; brothers Larry (Sandi) and Joe (Kathy); children Sheila (Heath), Dawn (Darrin), Rick (Kim), Traci (Tim), Tami (Arlan), Teri (Ted), Cody (Danielle), and Marc (Lori); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Randy, and his parents, Joseph and Regina Shotkoski.

Stoney worked for Ironworkers Local 21 for more than 30 years until his retirement. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed playing solitaire and taking vacations, especially trips to Las Vegas. Stoney was also well known throughout Springfield for mowing and maintaining several properties on his riding lawn mower right until his final days.

The family would like to thank the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department for their quick and caring response, as well as the Midlands emergency medical staff for their compassionate care.

CELEBRATION OF STONEY'S: Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11:00am, with Visitation one hour prior to the service, all at Braman Mortuary (Millard Chapel)

INTERMENT: Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, Nebraska.
