Sharon Kay Campbell

Sunrise of life began for Sharon K. (Meek) Campbell on March 15, 1941, in Maryville, Missouri and the sunset of her life came on May 9, 2025, at the Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 84 years.

Sharon was the daughter of Dale and Velma Verna (Bosley) Meek. She had eleven siblings, five brothers and six sisters. In her younger years, she used to tag along with one brother and the brother’s friend. His friend’s name was Francis Campbell. She used to watch Francis work on cars and hang out with her brother, but she was always a little too young for him. It was at a church picnic that Francis decided she might not be so bad. They began dating and later in the relationship, during one conversation, Sharon had mentioned that she was not happy with where she was living. Francis, too, did not like where he was living, so he said, “Why don’t we get married?” and her response was, “I’ll think about it.” And she did.

Francis and Sharon were married on July 10, 1960, in Glenwood, Iowa. They were married for 64 years. They were blessed with two children, Sandra Kay, and Steven Craig.

Sharon was preceded in death by parents Dale and V. Velma Meek, brothers Billy Gene, Bobby Dean, Jimmy Lee, Ernie Dee, sisters Carolyn Sue, Patty Vern, Peggy Fern, Linda Lou and Beverly Ann, and a son-in-law Michael Felthauser.

Sharon is survived by husband Francis A. Campbell, one daughter Sandra Felthauser of Omaha, Nebraska, one son Steve Campbell and wife Cathy of Sherman, Texas, one granddaughter Christy Felthauser of Omaha, Nebraska, one grandson Timothy Felthauser and wife Sherri of Omaha, Nebraska, one brother Carroll Meek and wife Dorothy of Red Oak, Iowa, one sister Karen and husband Jerry Lukehart of Bellevue, Nebraska and many nieces and nephews.
