July 24, 1929 ~ June 21, 2017 Age 87 of Omaha Rosemary C O’Doherty passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 21, 2017 due to congestive heart failure at the age of 88. She was born on July 24, 1928 to Sylvia and John McKeown. She caught the eye of her friend and future husband (Dan O’Doherty) in 1947 who preceded her in death in 2016 after 66 years of marriage.She is also proceeded in death by her 2 daughters (Jackie Ellis) and (Susan Mueller) and son (Daniel O’Doherty). Rose leaves behind son, Terry (Jody) O’Doherty, daughter, Maureen (Jeff) Koeningsman, Sons, Tim, Mark, Bernie, Joe and daughter, Peggy. Son-in-laws, Ron Ellis and Randy Mueller.She was a matriarch to 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Over the years Rose loved to play bridge, especially in the St. Pius bridge group. No one told jokes like Rose and how she remembered them all we have no idea! She managed a house full of 10 children while getting all the kids to sports, kept laundry maintained and food on the table. Bedtime though, was always a challenge!Everything back then had to be ironed and there was no microwave, dishwasher or cell phones. She cleaned all the sports uniforms for her husband’s basketball and baseball teams at the end of each season. She enjoyed making Christmas cookies for everyone, decorations for her bridge group, and sewing dolls for craft shows. Thanks, Mom, for the grace you showed during your life and all your selfless acts of love for our family. May you be at rest now with the Lord. Rose’s services will be at Braman Mortuary at 1702 N. 72nd Sunday night 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for visitation and a rosary following. The funeral service will be at St. Pius the Tenth Church on Monday at 10:30 a.m. with luncheon immediately following. Private interment. Memorials to Josie Harper Hospice House or New Cassel Retirement Center. These facilities were absolutely a blessing and treated Mom with love and kindness!
