Rose Marie Carlson, 98, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on August 17, 2026, in Omaha. She was born on March 24, 1928, in Omaha to Fred and Rose Kruger.
Rose married Charlie W. Carlson, and they were married for 53 years until his passing in 1999. She was also a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
As a teenager, Rose worked at the Martin Bomber Plant at Offutt Air Force Base. Later, she worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell, where she met Charlie. She eventually worked as a sales clerk at Sears.
Rose enjoyed camping, boating, and taking long vacations at her river cabin. She loved to cook, especially fried foods, and enjoyed photography, particularly taking pictures of her family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Rose also loved pets and had six beloved dogs throughout her life.
Rose is survived by her two children, son Walter Carlson and daughter Linda (Don) Brayton; grandchildren Jeannie (Ron) Brown and Jennifer (Pat) Votrobek; and great-grandchildren Jessica Brown, Matthew Brown, Charlie Votrobek, and John Votrobek.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha.
Rose will be remembered for her love of family, her enjoyment of the outdoors, her photography, cooking, and especially the time she spent with her grandchildren.
