Rona L. Wise

February 6, 1952 — August 1, 2016

The Life, The Love, The Legacy For she is worthy of double honor. Rona Ladon Wise was the celebrated girl born to Willie Walter and Luverta Marion Wise, Sr. on February 6, 1952, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was the youngest of four children and the only girl born to this blessed union. Rona, affectionately known as Prissy, was the youngest and only girl of the family and was passionately guarded by her brothers throughout her childhood. She was the bright and shining light of her family. She matriculated through the Omaha Public Schools and proudly graduated from Omaha Technical High School. The greatest honor and accomplishment of Rona’s life was being the mother of Terrill and Tanesha. From the beginning of their lives she understood her ultimate assignment and was equipped for the task. She loved her children unconditionally, celebrated them regularly, scolded when necessary and prayed without ceasing for their health and success. A lover of music, of words, pens and of people, Rona was able to captivate any person she came in contact with. Her favorite color was yellow and this lined up with her sunny and bright personality. Rona loved to smile, to laugh and have fun. She was in her best element when in a room of people and readily engaged in conversation. The words of Proverbs 31 could not adequately describe the voice of not only her children, but family and friends, of the blessing that is Rona. In the early hours of August 1, 2016, Rona received her call, to enter into her reward”. She had given her final instructions, loved on those that she cherished and expressed her final prayer on her children’s behalf. We shall continue to celebrate the honor of her story. While she is absent in body, her spirit, passion, love and prayers still linger in the atmosphere. She lives within the sparkling essence of her children and in the hearts of every person she encountered, an indelibly mark of love. Her impact shall forever remain. We that celebrate her legacy are children, Terrill (Kenisha) Wise and Tanesha Wise, both of Omaha, NE; brother, Phillip Wise of Minneapolis, MN.; grandchildren, JéNiya, Amir and Iyanna; 2nd mother, Leola Jones; special sister, Cynthia “Jackie” Grayer; godchildren, Felicia Gibson, Larry Murray and Tylena Adudu; Robinson Memorial Church of God In Christ family and a great host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Now hear the Saints of old, the witnesses of days gone by, calling, calling for a great soldier, Rona it’s time to come home.
