Rocco Richard Minino Jr. 1950-2025
Rocco, loving husband to Anita and proud father of 3 children, 74, of Omaha NE, went home to Jesus his lord and savior peacefully in his slumber Sunday September 28th 2025.
He was born in Omaha in 1950 to Rocco Sr. and Francis who have both preceded him in death. Rocco spent a good part of his youth working on his Grandparents farm, which ignited his love for tractors. Also he was known to make a quick run across the street for a sandwich from his other Grandma. He is survived by his sister Terri and brothers Bob, Jim and Mike.
Rocco was married to Anita Cogdill on September 23, 1972 and not long after felt the call to defend his country as he joined the US Navy in 1975. He served for 20 years as a flight engineer for P3’ along with working on F/A 18 Hornets and even had the honor of assisting crews at Top Gun. After retiring from the Navy he took the honor, discipline and values learned home to Omaha, NE. Where he would eventually finish out his working life with family and friends at Precision Tool Inc.
During his life Rocco found joy in many things such as Bowling, Lawn Mowing, listening to oldies, country and especially gospel music. Though of special interest were always John Wayne movies, his weekly men's bible study group and especially Cornhusker football…Go Big Red.
Rocco was a devoted and loving father to Amy (Robert), Lori (Daniel) and Rocco who dearly miss him and the life lessons he imparted to them. While not one to shed many tears, his eyes were never dry on the days his 3 children in turn graduated high school. Almost as if a finish line had been crossed.
He took great pride in being a dad, especially playing with the kids when they were younger, and was proud to see them graduate and pursue their dreams. Though it's quite possible he was most proud and fond of his 6 amazing grandchildren….ever the doting Grandpa.
Celebration of Life will be held 11:00am, Monday, October 6, 2025 at the Bellevue Christian Center. Inurnment: 2:30pm, Monday October 6, 2025 at Omaha National Cemetery.
