ALBERS, Robert J. “Bob” Age 89 years of Omaha Born July 7, 1927 in Nebraska City, NE and passed on September 10, 2016 in Omaha, NE. Bob lived in Elmwood and Nebraska City, NE when he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was Stationed on the east coast where he served from 1945-1946.Formerly of Lincoln, NE, he was employed at Western Electric in Lincoln and Omaha, where he has lived since 1963.Bob was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America from 1948-1988 when he retired with 40 years of service.He enjoyed retirement, family, friends, his hobbies and many interests. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Lorenz & Augusta, brothers: Gerald, John, Fritz, Lorenz, Jr; Sister Bernice Stubbendick.He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years Jean; Daughter Brenda (Ronald) Aldrich; Son Daniel Albers; Grandson Justin (Nicole) Geyza; Brother Gilbert (Linda) Albers; Sisters-in-law: Mary Schmidt and Carol Monroe; Many nieces and nephews.
