Raymond B. Nauman
April 7th 1976 ~ January 1st 2026
Raymond Barton Nauman was born April 7, 1976 at Fitzsimons Army Hospital, Aurora Colorado. Fitzsimons was the same hospital his grandmother Ola Mae Vannoy was stationed at in World War II. Ray passed from this life on January 7, 2026. Ray was born to Barton J. and Judith A. (Vannoy) Nauman.
Ray's father was in the Air Force so he travelled at an early age, Lowry Air Force Base, Aurora, CO, San Vito Air Station, Italy, Fairchild Air Force Base, Spokane, WA.
The family moved to LaVista, NE upon Barton's retirement form the Air Force. Ray attended grade school, junior high and high school and graduated from LaVista Papillion High School in
1995. Ray was active in Band and loved being a scout with Boy Scout Troop 470. He loved going to the Boy Scout camps and traveling to Washington DC.
Shortly after graduation he joined the Army being stationed in Germany. South Korean, Bosnia; Colorado Springs, CO, Ft. Lewis, WA and 2 tours in Iraq.
Ray was married to Vicki Meyerson on October 13, 2001 in Salida, CO.
Ray move to LaVista in 2019 after being diagnosed with MS. Ray was active with a VA support group and enjoyed playing chair volleyball at the LaVista Community Center with his mother
and friends and he was quite the competitor in balloon hockey too.
Ray is survived by his mother Judy, Aunt Mary Vannoy and her children Bradley Vannoy and Heather Robinson. Stepmother Joan Kracke and his loyal support dog Bella.
Preceding in death his father Barton J., grandparents Raymond and Ola Mae Vannoy. Barton H. and Bernice Nauman and his Uncle Raymond Douglas Vannoy.
Raymond came from a proud military family. His father was Air Force. His grandparents Ray and Ola Mae were Army along with his grandfather Barton H. who was Army. His Uncle
Raymond Douglas Vannoy was a Marine.
Interment will take place at the Omaha National Cemetery.
