Patricia L. "Patty" Vocelka

VOCELKA, Patricia Louise “Patty” 2/26/1941 – 9/28/2016 Age 75 years of Omaha Patty has courageously battled leukemia for many years. This last Wednesday she was received into our Lord Jesus’s welcoming hands. Patty was born and raised in Omaha. She had a wonderful upbringing in what is now referred to as “Little Italy”. She knew it as home. Raised in the Saint Frances Cabrini parish, she attended Lincoln Elementary, Saint Patrick’s Elementary, Central High and Mercy High School where she graduated and, with a desire to chase her creative dreams, moved on to graduate from Capitol School of Hairstyling & Esthetics. Embarking on a long and wonderful career, Patty ultimately opened Times Square Salon and enjoyed many years of success. During the early years, Patty flourished creatively as an accomplished model, dancer, artist, and art teacher focused on Impressionism oil painting. Along the way she married Ed Vocelka, a creative and charismatic artist, and enjoyed raising her two sons, Ed Jr. and Tony. Patty loved life. She loved her family and friends and would always be “up to doing anything!” Family and friends will always remember Patty as a person that was loving, caring, and always positive. She will be deeply missed. Patty, mom, we love you very, very much! Patty was preceded in passing by her husband Edward J. Vocelka Sr., mother and father Eva and Tony Tarascio and sister Mary Ann Tarascio. Left with fond memories of Patty are Ed Jr.’s family Kasey, Chris, Ryan, Annie and Abby; Tony’s family Stacy, Joe and Sam; and everyone that she has met along the way.
