Oakley May Garrett

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Oakley May Garrett on March 8th, 2026 at UNMC due to complications after her liver transplant at the age of eight months and nineteen days.

The funeral service will be held on Friday March 20th at 2026 at 11:00 am at Christ Community Church. All friends and family are welcomed and appreciated.

Born on June 18th, 2025 at Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Nebraska to parents Austin and Katelyn Garrett.
Oakley filled our lives with love from the moment she came into this world. Curious and loving from birth, Oakley was always looking around wanting to see the world. Watching her older sisters and growing more inquisitive with the world around her, her personality began to blossom.
Oakley loved music and having dance parties daily. She was a healthy girl who was about to hit the milestone of learning to crawl. Oakley became sick with Rhinovirus which led her to need a liver transplant. Her father, Austin, donated 25% of his liver to Oakley. Music was played for Oakley each day at the hospital and in response her vitals would increase with excitement. Due to reoccurring complications, Oakley became more sick during her time at the hospital.
Oakley will be missed, but Heaven gained a beautiful and loving soul.

Oakley is survived by parents Katelyn and Austin Garrett, her sister Octavia and half-sister Alaina Garrett, her grandparents Stacy and Julie Gibson - Mimi and Umpa-, Lucinda -Busha- and (Micheal) Glynn, and Tim Garrett, her uncle Jared (Allegra) Gibson, her great-grandparents Char Gibson and Carl Crook, and her godparent Jeffery Foster.
Oakley is preceded in death by her brother Westley Garrett and her great-grandparents Ervin and Barbara Andrews, Jean Crook and Jack Gibson .
