Norma Jean Schroeder

Norma Jean Passed away peacefully Nov. 14,2025 at the Accura Nursing home in Tekamah at the age of 94.

She was born to Floyd & Grace Magill on March 20, 1931, on the family farm west of Herman, Ne. She was known to most people by Jean. They had moved to Omaha for about 7 years and then went back to the farm, where she graduated from Herman High School in 1949.
Soon after she was married to Norman Duane Barr, who had passed a few months before their son Norman L. Barr was born in 1952.
In 1955 she was united with Raymond Crom. She was now a farmer's wife. Between raising 4 kids and helping out whenever she could, she was a busy lady. Always ready and willing to help anyone out at any time, which made her happy. Best Mom Ever!
She was a very active Life Member of the VFW Auxiliary in Tekamah. She had been the secretary for them for years and was always busy helping with all of their events
In 1997 she was married to Carl Schroeder. She loved being at the cabin they had out on river. There were a lot of picnics out there.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands, son, Leroy Crom, brothers, Merlin (Dorothy) Magill, Don Magill, Sister Mary Ann Brown, brother in-laws, Marion McCluskey Kenneth Crom, son In-law Craig Cowel.
Survivors included, son Norman (Vickie) Barr, Tekamah, daughters Debbie (Neil) Dunn, Craig, Denise Cowell & friend Scot Simpson Tekamah, Step sons, Terry & Clark Schroeder, sister Eva McCluskey, sister in-laws, Judy Magill, Ethel May Rhoades, 8 Grandkids, 19 Great Grandkids & 2 Great Great Grandkids. Many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at a later date. Memorials can be sent to the Tekamah Chatt Center.
