Nancy Ann Blocker Shinrock was born April 3, 1940. Nancy was welcomed into heaven August 3, 2026 by her husband; Brian Shinrock, parents; Clarence and Esther Johannes Blocker, brother; Gordon Lyn Blocker, sister and brother-in-law Beverly (Al) Boyd, brother-in-law; Fred Shinrock, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Janice (Russell) Swigart, Iris (Phil) Wilson, nieces; Cindy Fiala and Karen Zymball, nephews; Jeff Shinrock and Scott Swigart.
Nancy is survived by daughters Teri (Jim) Teutsch of Fremont, Lori (Dan) Fallon of Elkhorn, and Jodi (Todd) Vermilyea of Carter Lake, 11 grandchildren; Matt (Jenny) O’Dowd, Jessica Palmer, Brian (Amanda) Palmer, Amber Hartin, James (Barbara) Teutsch, Hannah (Nick) Cramer, Brianna Shinrock, Michaela (Roger) Johnson, Brandon Vermilyea, Bryce Vermilyea, Brody Vermilyea, and 29 great grandchildren, sister; Debbie (Kenny) Barber, sister-in-law; Nancy K. Shinrock, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Nancy was born in Home, KS, raised in Columbus, NE and moved to Omaha shortly after her high school graduation from Columbus High School in 1958. Nancy met the love of her life, Brian her first night in Omaha at Shada’s Drive In. Brian and Nancy were married on May 21, 1960 and celebrated 58 years of marriage prior to Brian’s passing in 2018.
Nancy worked in the deli at Hinky Dinky grocery stores for most of her career, later working at Brandeis Marketplace Deli, then at Razzy’s Deli in Omaha.
Nancy looked forward to holidays, birthdays and spending time with family. She enjoyed playing card games and dominoes with the family and attending all her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.
Nancy attended Lord of Love Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE. She looked forward to the quilting club, special themed luncheons and playing Mexican Train Dominoes with her church friends. She enjoyed her time teaching the Luther Kids Program at the church. Nancy also enjoyed meeting with Brian’s MUD retiree group for lunch. When Nancy was home, she enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Nebraska Husker football, volleyball, baseball and softball games.
Services for Nancy will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 11:00am at Lord of Love Lutheran Church 10405 Fort Street, Omaha, NE 68134. Burial Service will be on Monday, August 24, 2026 at 10:00am at the Omaha National Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Lord of Love Quilters 10405 Fort St, Omaha, NE 68134. They support the Lutheran World Relief Foundation, a cause near and dear to her heart.
