Murphy is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley; daughter, Patricia; brothers, Howard, Gabriel, and Michael; and sister, Julie.

He is survived by his sister, Ella; sons, Scott (Stephanie) Koory, Don (Charity) Koory, and Steven Koory; daughters, Pam (Brian) Workman and Victoria (David) Haskins; 14 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
