Michael Germolik Jr. March 9, 1941 – August 26, 2025
Michael Germolik Jr., 84, of Omaha, NE, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025. Born in Buffalo, NY, on March 9, 1941, Michael proudly served in the U.S. Army following high school. He went on to dedicate over 30 years of his career to Western Electric, retiring from Avaya after the company changed hands several times during his tenure.
Michael enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and always kept his hands busy. He loved tinkering with small projects around the house, bowling, golfing, and capturing memories through photography. A devoted fan of the Buffalo Bills, he rarely missed a game. He had a soft spot for his grand puppies and great-grand puppies — and an even softer one for his four beloved grandchildren, whom he absolutely adored.
Though known for his grumpy exterior, Michael was a jokester at heart with a sharp wit and a dry sense of humor that kept his family on their toes.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Donna Germolik; and his parents, Michael Germolik and Rita (Sheldon).
He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Germolik (Chris) of Oklahoma, Teri Vavra (Todd), and Tracy Neidig (Mark), both of Omaha, NE; his cherished grandchildren, Brandon Neidig, April Neidig, Austin Vavra, and Ashleigh Vavra; and his sister, Jean Mills.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Braman Mortuary, 6505 S 144th St., Omaha, NE 68137. Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:30 PM, with a luncheon to follow.
