PULLEY, Melinda Renee 3/23/1975 – 8/6/2022 Melinda Renee (nee Antoine) Pulley (Mindy) of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on August 6, 2022, after a full, giving life that was cut way too short. She was 47. Melinda was born on March 23, 1975 at Quantico, VA to Lou Ann Killmon (Wingo) and Donald C. Antoine, Sr. Melinda was a 1993 graduate of Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, MD, and received her BS and teaching degree from UMBC in Baltimore, MD in 1997. She worked various jobs to pay for her cheerleading in HS, and her college expenses. Working at Akin Gump law firm while waiting for a permanent teaching position to open up, she met and fell in love with her beloved husband, Rocky D. Pulley. They married on September 24, 1999. She recently told me that he was still her rock! She was a stay-at-home Mom and loved it! She homeschooled her children when living in Stafford, VA, making learning fun, doing crafts, planning adventures for them. I especially loved the pirate treasure hunt she created for the kids using a map and looking for clues for the buried treasure in the backyard. They made lots of friends with the Stafford Moms group, homeschoolers' group. Her favorite flowers are mums, sunflowers and gerbera daisies, and her favorite season is Fall. She loved going on convertible rides and hiking with Rocky, boating, sailing, the beach, swimming, craft shows, scrapbooking, flea markets, Redskins football, Maryland steamed crabs with Old Bay, Dunkin Donuts Coffee. Melinda loved children and animals, from dogs and cats to hamsters and even the pet iguana, Jefferson. After moving to Omaha, the kids went to public school. She got herself involved in all kinds of activities; she was always up for anything if it was fun, helped people, or learned a new experience. She went to work for Omaha Steaks, first part-time, later full time. She wanted to help contribute to her and Rockys retirement fund. She worked there for 7 years, leaving to spend more quality time with her children and spoiling her toddler grandson Varian, whom she adored. Melinda was a very giving, loyal, conscientious, caring, passionate person, always willing to help with scouting and other activities, to boosting the spirit of a friend or stranger who was down and out. She was passionate about whatever or whoever she was concentrating on. Melinda is survived by her beloved husband, Rocky, daughter Kayleigh, son Derek, grandson Varian, both her parents, brother Donald Antoine, Jr., and mother-in-law Esther Bradley-Baer (Dave), many aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. She will be greatly missed. Still giving in death, Melinda was honored by Bergen Mercy Hospital in Omaha for being a multi organ donor. It is expected that she will save the lives of 7 people. She is pre-deceased over just the last several years by all her grandparents, Walter and Edna Antoine in Massachusetts, and Jack and Betty Killmon in Maryland. Donations may be made to the Humane Society of Omaha, Live On Nebraska, or a charity of your choice in her name.
