Maurice Annis passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2024 after a long illness. Maurice was born in Pine River, Minnesota on Aug 25, 1940, the eldest child of Howard Annis and Mary (Lemke) Robbins. Overcoming health challenges very early in life, Maurice grew up in Hubbard, Minnesota.
As a young man, he moved to Omaha where he found work in the meat packing industry. On September 7, 1962, Maurice married Charlotte Shatzer and moved to a farmhouse 2 miles south of Plattsmouth, NE to start their family. In 1972 they removed to the Benson neighborhood of Omaha, NE and purchased a home near their beloved Temple Baptist Church. In 1985, Maurice started work for American Laboratories, continuing until his retirement in 2008.
Maurice was active in his church, being well known as the head usher for decades. He worked hard to provide for his family, using his little free time to visit his extended family in the Park Rapids, Minnesota area every year and made sure to get in plenty of fishing while he was there.
Maurice is survived by his wife, Charlotte; four children, Marshall, Maureen (Mike) Reed, Brad (Jill), and Bev (Bryan) Anglin; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Don. Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mary, and six siblings: Betty, Shirley, Barb, David, Suzie, and Jim.
Maurice will be remembered for his devotion to family and faith, leaving a legacy of love and dedication that will be cherished always.
