Mark V. "Ziggy" Ziegler

ZIEGLER, Mark V. “Ziggy” 3/7/1957 – 7/18/2026

Mark passed away in his home at the age of 69. Mark was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Terri; his father, Bill; his mother, Pat; and his brother, Mike. He is survived by his son, Tom & his wife Kim; his grandson Grayson; his brother Steve & his wife Janie; his sister Chris & her husband Dan; his sister Mary; his brother John; his sister Kathy & her husband Jared; and many other relatives and friends.

Mark met his beloved Terri on a softball team. According to the routinely recounted story, they got married one July day because Mark’s mom was in town and she told them she brought a dress… just in case. They started their life together from humble beginnings, which they made sure to drive a young Tom and Kim by on multiple occasions. They moved into their forever home in 1987, with the birth of Tom soon to follow. He dedicated his time to coaching Tom in basketball and passed on as much knowledge as he could about the game of golf.

Mark worked at UPS for nearly 40 years. He made lots of lifelong friendships in his time with the company. He was full of stories about the unique interactions from his route and could sit and regale you with his tales for hours if you let him. Though the job was very physically demanding, overall, he took great pride in his work. He was even awarded the circle of honor for safe driving for decades on end.

Some of Mark’s favorite memories include family trips on the Niobrara River with family friends, and the ultimate destination vacations in Mexico with Terri. Memories of him enjoying life to the fullest often happened on these trips. But you cannot talk about Mark without mentioning his love for golf. We all know he loved his time on the course and was in his most natural state with a club in his hand. After his retirement, he dedicated most of his time working and chasing the course record at Johnny Goodman, all the while amassing multiple holes in one. Mark was always at his best when spending time with friends and family. He came alive when recounting stories and telling jokes surrounded by an audience. Many will remember him best by his deep voice and big smile. He will forever be missed.

Celebration of Mark’s Life: Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026 at 11:00am, with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service, all at Braman Mortuary (Southwest Chapel).

The golf course was Mark’s happy place and he would certainly prefer a brightly colored golf polo over a tie. If you feel the same, please feel free to dress as Mark would have liked to.

There will be a luncheon directly following the service at the mortuary where friends can continue his celebration.
