Mark built a successful career in the building industry. He began “swinging a hammer” at the young age of 14, and first business in his early twenties. Winston Custom Homes quickly grew and became a respected name in the industry. He most recently worked as a Site Superintendent with Urban Waters.
Mark was preceded in death by his infant son, Benjamin.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sarah Winston (Graham) of Bellevue, Ohio, and Kaitlyn Winston of Elyria, Ohio. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, David and Lori Winston of Twinsburg, Ohio, and his sister, Kim Kucharczyk of Parma, Ohio.
Mark leaves behind the love of his life, Lori Wise, and two bonus daughters, Ashley and Avery, of Omaha, Nebraska. He is also survived by nieces, cousins, aunts, and many extended family members and friends.
Mark will forever be remembered for his hard work, resilience, generous spirit, and a smile that would light up the room. He was a fierce protector of those he loved and always an advocate for the underdog. He believed that helping others was truly his mission in life, and he fulfilled that mission every day. In his free time, Mark loved building and fixing things, riding his motorcycle, bowling, and spending any time he could with his family. He will also be remembered for his playful personality and the way he could always make those around him laugh with his goofy antics. Though he is gone, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will remain with his family and friends forever.
A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held Wednesday, March 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Braman Mortuary, 6505 S. 144th St., Omaha, Nebraska. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
