Marjorie “Marge” S. Cummings passed away on February 23, 2026, at Methodist Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Marge was born on March 19, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late John and Leona Derwent.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Ralph Cummings; her niece Colleen Ptack; and her nephews Thomas Kavanagh and John Kavanagh.

Marge is survived by her children, who were the joy of her life:

  • Laura Shipler
  • Linda Doornink
  • Edward Cummings (Debbie)

She is also survived by her sister Joan Brand, and her brother‑in‑law John Cummings.

Marge leaves behind nine grandchildren and eleven great‑grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews who adored her.

Marge will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to her family, and the deep love she shared with all who knew her.

Visitation: Sunday, March 1, from 1-3 pm at Braman Mortuary Millard Chapel, 6505 S 144th St., Omaha, NE

Funeral Mass: Monday, March 2 at 11 am at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, 3405 S 118th St, Omaha, NE

Interment: Voss Mohr Cemetery
