Lorretta Marie Dixon
February 15, 1941 ~ February 15, 2026
Lorretta was born in Omaha, NE on February 15, 1941 to Louis and Viola Lucas and had two siblings, LeRoy and Linda. Lorretta attended Central High School and married Thomas Dixon on September 6, 1958. Tom and Lorretta had three children; Bob, Scott and Lori. After the kids were in school, Lorretta worked at Northwestern Bell for 10 years. She went on to work for Mangelsen’s for 30 years and was the only Mangelsen employee to earn a “Golden M” for her high achievements in sales; all while helping Tom own and run The Dugout Bar. Lorretta took great pride in her bartending and billiards skills.
Lorretta loved her children but adored her grandchildren even more. Being a Grandma was absolutely the most important thing in her life. Her grandchildren spent endless hours with Grandma Lorretta, but their favorite times were watching her play her accordion, which she learned how to play when she was 7 years old.
Tom and Lorretta retired and enjoyed a few years in Florida, before returning home to help care for their elderly parents. After their parents passed away, they invested in a small resort in Waubun, Minnesota and spent many years enjoying the beautiful lakes of Minnesota.
In 2014, Tom and Lorretta returned home to live their lives with their large family. Lorretta passed away peacefully after many years of severe health conditions, with Tom by her side on her 85th birthday.
Lorretta is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Viola Lucas and her brother LeRoy Lucas.
Lorretta is survived by her husband of 67 years, Thomas Dixon; children Robert (Gloria Wilcox) Dixon, Scott (Vicki) Dixon, Lori (Marc) Dover; sister Linda Haynes and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
