Laura Pauline Goodsell

It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of beloved wife, mother, sister, niece, cousin and friend Laura Goodsell (Wood) on July 30th, 2026. Born on September 21, 1980, in Omaha, NE to John and Ruth (Staben) Wood she grew up in Omaha and enjoyed childhood camping and fishing trips as well as traveling to Europe with her sister. She lived in Texas for a few years before returning to Omaha to be closer to family. She met the love of her life, Joey, when they worked together at UPS. She later became a career employee with USPS, where she especially loved interacting with her customers and coworkers. Laura had an infectious laugh and a heart of gold, always ready to lend a hand or share a story. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories. She is survived by her husband Joey (Joseph) Goodsell, sons: Julius Buchanan, David Harris, John Goodsell; sister: Beth Wood; Uncle Chuck and Aunt Jan Wood, Aunt Jean and Uncle Paul Hundtoft, Uncle Bob and Aunt Chris Staben, a niece, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 6th from 5-7pm at Braman Mortuary – Millard Chapel 6505 S. 144th Street, Omaha, NE. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Braman Mortuary – Millard Chapel.
