LaDonna Kaye Greunke, October 14, 1948 - July 3, 2026
LaDonna was born in Falls City, NE. She was blessed to be raised by Christian parents, John and Edna Muller, who were involved in their church. She was very blessed to have her four sisters and two brothers who were all saved as well as their families along with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins that were all Christians. What a great heritage to have. LaDonna's father and mother were farmers so most of her childhood was spent on the farm. In the fall of 1965, her parents and siblings moved to Omaha where LaDonna attended her senior year at Millard High School graduating in May 1966.
Lowell and LaDonna were married on August 7, 1971. Lowell was a senior at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. They moved to Norman, OK so Lowell could earn his master’s degree at the University of Oklahoma while LaDonna worked in Oklahoma City. They returned to Omaha where Lowell took a job at the Omaha Public Library for an over 40-year career. LaDonna worked for many years at Western Electric before marriage and after. LaDonna had two children, Laura and Paul, and was a stay-at-home mother. She also took care of two of her brother's children from their birth for about 4 years. She then worked two office jobs and took care of her first grandchild (Lindsay) for her first 1½ years. LaDonna then worked one more office job before becoming so sick that she had to quit working outside the home.
LaDonna believed that one of her most important missions was to see that her own children and grandchildren were saved. For many years, LaDonna taught Sunday school or vacation Bible school. When her children were little, she made treats for vacation Bible school. Her daughter, Laura, and her son, Paul both married Christian spouses and with their help, all 5 of her grandchildren were saved. Praise the Lord!
LaDonna loved trees with or without leaves, flowers and music. She sang in the choir as a young adult and in Christmas programs at church as a child. She loved the old Christmas carols, older hymns, praise music and southern gospel quartets. With the grove of trees behind her home, LaDonna would watch the squirrels play in the trees and birds coming and going from the window by her bed. She would keep track of the different types of birds; red birds, blue birds (her favorite), doves, redheaded woodpeckers, black snowbirds, owls and many others.
LaDonna was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Muller, her brother, Duane Muller and her sister, Elaine Hansen. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Lowell; her children Laura (Todd) Langford and Paul (Lisa) Greunke; her grandchildren Lindsay and Troy Langford and William, Jacob and Andrew Greunke; her sisters Marjorie Hayden, Jane (Lance) McKercher and Janelle (Jay) Christensen and brother John (Julie) Muller; along with many other relatives.
