Kenny Whitehead

Kenny Whitehead passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd.

Kenny was born on May 1 5,1944, in Auburn, Nebraska to Clarence and Louise Whitehead.

He was the youngest of 4 children and grew up in Tecumseh, Nebraska and graduated from

Tecumseh High School. After graduation his mom got him a job at Campbell Soup pulling

chickens. When the Navy recruiter came by, he decided joining the Navy had to be better

than pulling chickens. While in boot camp he was rethinking that pulling chickens maybe

wasn't so bad. Kenny served for over 3 years with the Navy. Kenny worked for the City of

Omaha for over 20 years and retired from there.

ln 1972 he met Elaine, the love of his life. ln 1978 they were married in Las Vegas.

Kenny loved old time country music, playing ten-point pitch, playing pool, traveling to

Vegas to play in Keno tournaments, going for rides through small towns and watching

Husker football.

Kenny is survived by his wife Elaine, brother Junior Whitehead, sister Phyllis Malan, nieces,

nephews and many friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Adolph Fink, infant sister Katherine

and best friend Dale Thurman.

Memorial Service: Wednesday, September 30 at 12 pm, with visitation starting at 11 am, at Braman Mortuary Millard Chapel, 6505 S 144th St, Omaha, NE
Inurnment: 1:30 pm at Omaha National Cemetery with full military honors
