Karlene J. Witzig, a cherished resident of Omaha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30th, 2025, at the age of 80. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, on February 8th, 1945, Karlene lived a life characterized by kindness, service, and an unwavering commitment to her community and faith.
Karlene graduated from Los Angeles Baptist College, and her career in customer service at Nebraska Furniture Mart exemplified her dedication to helping others. Her warmth and patience made an indelible impact on both her colleagues and the customers she served.
Beyond her professional life, Karlene was known for her altruism and courage, having smuggled Bibles into Austria. Her devotion to her faith fueled her passion for caregiving, touching countless lives through her selfless acts of kindness.
Karlene is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Inga Witzig; her sister, Lavonne Stannish, and brother, Richard Witzig
She is lovingly survived by her brother, Gary Witzig, her Brother-in-law, Victor Stannish, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and relatives, all of whom will deeply miss her presence.
Karlene will be forever remembered for her generosity, sincerity, and the genuine care she showed to everyone around her. Her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
Funeral Service: 11am Mon., Nov., 10, 2025 with visitation starting at 10am -All at Braman Mortuary Millard Chapel. Graveside Service will be held: 2:30pm., Tues., Nov. 11th at Graceland Park Cemetery, Omaha, NE.
