SFC (RET) Justin Paul Jirkovsky, age 46 of Clarksville, TN, unexpectedly passed away on June 25, 2025, at his home.

Justin was born March 19, 1979, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Jim (Mary) Jirkovsky and Theresa (Rick) Musich. Including his parents, Justin is survived by: his loving wife of 17 years, Gina Jirkovsky; three daughters, Mackenzie “Mack” Carr, Baileigh “Bai Bai” Bedell, and Ryleigh “Ry Bugs” Jirkovsky; three brothers, Bryan (Dee) Jirkovsky, Mark Jirkovsky and Michael Albrecht; two sisters, Kristin (Bill) Ryan and Lisa (John) Cernik; nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Alex, Alaina, Alden, J.J., Miller, June, Hazel and Bruce; several great nieces and nephews; and father in law, Donald Wayne Smith.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Paul and Marilyn McDermott, Charles and Mae Jirkovsky, Chuck and Loretta Watson; mother-in-law, Debbie Smith, and brother-in-law, Jeremy Smith.

Justin grew up in Springfield, NE, and attended Platteview High School, graduating in 1997. He attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney before joining the U.S. Army in June of 2001. Justin served 12 years, 7 years in an Infantry Regiment and 5 years as a Civil Affairs Specialist, with two tours in Afghanistan and an additional two tours in Iraq. During his time in the Army, Justin received various accolades, including an award for being in the top 10% academically. One of his most notable achievements was receiving the Bronze Star Medal for exceptionally meritorious service while serving as the 101st Sustainment Brigade Civil Affairs’ NCO in charge, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2013, Justin retired from the U.S. Army and graduated from American Military University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice.

Justin was a member of Real Life Sango Church, American Legion, and VFW Post Oak Grove. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and active member of his community. Justin will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 12:00 - 3:00 PM at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM. Burial will be at the Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road, Omaha, NE 68138. Services in Omaha, NE, (please see Omaha services below.)

Services in Omaha: Tuesday, July 8: Visitation from 11 am - 12:15 pm, with a Funeral Service beginning at 12:15 pm, all at Braman Mortuary Millard Chapel, 6505 S. 144th St., Omaha, NE. Interment: 1:30 pm at Omaha National Cemetery with full military honors. A reception will be held at Braman Mortuary Millard Chapel following the interment.
