At just 14 years old, Johanna met the love of her life, Harry. Their love story began in Germany and remained strong throughout their lives. The couple married on July 1, 1961, beginning a devoted partnership that lasted 64 years.
Johanna moved to the United States in 1960, settling first on a ranch in Plevna, Montana. There, she began learning English with the help of a priest who later married her and Harry. Johanna loved to travel and created many treasured memories with her family throughout her life. She frequently returned to Montana to visit family, and would make trips back to Germany to visit her sisters. She also enjoyed travel to Pennsylvania, Florida, Hawaii, and Mexico. In her later years, she spent winters in South Padre Island as well as Myrtle Beach.
A creative and artistic soul, Johanna had a passion for decorating, gardening, cooking, and art. She expressed her creativity through beautiful paintings and sculptures that brought joy to those around her and reflected her vibrant spirit.
She loved American football and was known to “team hop” between the Vikings, Packers, and Patriots, but her true loyalty was always with the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Johanna was preceded in death by her husband Harry, her parents, Gertrude and Johann Wolf, and her sisters, Lotte and Helga.
