John Michael Tuttle, 23, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on September 13, 2026.
From the moment he was born on December 19, 2002 in Hastings, Nebraska, John brought an undeniable light and energy into the world. He grew up in Springfield, Nebraska, and graduated from Mount Michael Benedictine High School in 2021. John was active in Boy Scout Troop 711, trap shooting, and high school choir and band. Recently, John worked mostly in hospitality at The Brant Senior Living Center, Sgt. Peffer's, and Texas Roadhouse.
To know John was to know he lived life with a deep passion for the things he loved. He always had a new song to show his friends and family. He had playlists for everything, whether it was rock, alternative rock, country, pop, or one of many others. John valued every single friendship he had. His loyalty was quiet but unshakable. He loved his cat, Stuart. He had a rare ability to make anyone laugh, educate us all with random facts, and argue a point. His absence leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
John is deeply missed by his parents, Mike and Jodie Tagel of Ewing, and Mike and Julie Tuttle of Waterloo, his brother, Ben Tuttle of Wayne; his grandparents, LeRoy and Marilyn Heier of Norfolk, Del and Susie Ames of Neligh, the late Joe Tagel of Ewing, and the late Gary and Colleen Tuttle of Springfield; and a large, loving circle of extended family and lifelong friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Braman Mortuary (6505 South 144th Street, Omaha, Nebraska) with a Wake Service to follow at 7:00 pm.
Additionally, a celebration of John’s vibrant life will be held during a funeral mass on Saturday, September 19, at 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (100 9th St, Springfield, Nebraska).
Burial will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in rural Ewing, NE, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials given to the family will be used in John's memory at a later date.
