John B. Freeman, April 8, 1963 ~ July 15, 2025
John B Freeman, 62, of Omaha, died on July 15th, 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by his SLP family. Preceded in death by his mother Delphine Freeman and stepfather Boyd Braman. He is survived by his SLP family: Kafono and Rania along with their son Daniel, his girlfriend Marlys, and his Duet Family and Friends.
John was born in Los Angeles, California but moved to Omaha, Nebraska when he was a young adult. John moved into a Duet (previously ENCOR) residential home in 1984 after his mother passed away. In 1987, John moved in with his Home Teacher’s, Fred and Gary where he resided for 30 years before moving back into a group home. John moved in with his Shared Living Provider Kafono in 2020 where he resided until he passed away. In 1992, John began working at CARE recycling where he remained until 2024 when CARE closed. Then John moved over to the HUB where he worked and attended activities with friends.
John was a man of preference. He loved his ketchup sandwiches, cheeseburgers, vanilla ice cream, and bud light. John loved to watch NASCAR, football, and enjoyed listing to his 80s love songs and the oldies. John was loved by many. He could light up a room with his smile and humor. John was a man of faith who enjoyed attending service every Sunday.
Visitation will be held Wednesday July 23rd, from 5pm to 7pm., at Braman Mortuary Funeral Home 72nd Street Chapel in Omaha.
Celebration of Johns' life will be held Thursday July 24th, at 10am., at Braman Mortuary Funeral Home 72nd Street Chapel in Omaha.
Interment: Lorimor Cemetery, Lorimor, Iowa
