SHIELL, James D. 7/1/1947 – 4/22/2020 James Downey Shiell was born July 1, 1947 in Lewistown, Montana to John and Leona (Lindholm) Shiell. Jim attended Technical “Tech” High School in Omaha, Nebraska. On May 29, 1966 he graduated from West Kearney High School. Upon graduation Jim worked for Smitty’s Van and Storage Co. driving a truck. Jim was a jack of all trades and held other jobs such as Nebraska Builders Product and doing side jobs like hanging siding. Jim had a lot of hobbies. Some of them included riding his motorcycle, working outside in his garden, watching wrestling, fishing, building model trains, and camping with family and lifelong friends The Keller’s. Everyone that knew Jim knew he LOVED sitting on his front porch enjoying the weather and the traffic. Jim lived a blessed life with a very strong support group. Throughout the fight with his health conditions over these 27 years of battling Jim always said, “A WINNER never quits and a QUITTER never wins.”Jim won his fight and entered eternal rest on April 22, 2020 surrounded by his family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Leona Shiell, his brother Harold Shiell, and his friends Tinker Keller, and Joe Pagnano. Surviving family includes his daughters, Lisa Shiell, Jamie (Albert) Davis, and Marnee Shiell all of Omaha Nebraska.Granddaughters, Jasmine (Joshua) Winkler of Corning Iowa, Alexis Godbolt of Omaha Nebraska, and Da’Leyah York of Omaha Nebraska. Great-grandson, Jameson Winkler of Corning Iowa. Former wife, Cindy Shiell of Omaha Nebraska. Sisters, Norma Schiffer of Yelm Washington, Donna Shiell of Atoka Oklahoma, and brother Robert (Elaine) Shiell of Bremerton Washington. He also leaves behind special friends Charlie Keller, Sonny VanLaningham, Marvin Marshall, and Terry Miller, and very many family and friends. A celebration of life to be held at a later date.
