James “Jim” Irwin Bridgeford was born July 29th, 1942 in Alliance, Nebraska, to Irwin and Maxine Bridgeford. He passed away on May 11th, 2023, in Omaha, Nebraska. Gathering of family and friends Wednesday, May 17th at Braman Mortuary (1702 N 72nd St, Omaha, NE) 5 to 7 pm. Funeral service Thursday, May 18th at 10 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church (322 N Molley St, Bennington, NE). Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery (2300 S 78th St, Omaha, NE). Continuation of Jim’s celebration of life will be a luncheon at VFW Post 2503 (8904 Military Rd, Omaha, NE).
Jim attended Benson High School, and he graduated in 1960. Shortly after, he married the love of his life, Faye (Wolf) Bridgeford. Jim and Faye were married for 61 years. They had four beautiful daughters as well as six amazing grandchildren. He took over his family business, Bridgeford and Sons, that consisted of home remodels, commercial work, and building cabinets for ATMS. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, especially with his wife, daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, and friend. He was blessed.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents: Irwin and Maxine Bridgeford; brother Fred (Marilyn) Bridgeford; sister Peggy (Tom) Schuster; son-in-law Kevin Porter; father- and mother-in-law Dale and Clara Wolf; and brother-in-law Allen Hendrickson.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Faye Bridgeford; daughters: Kris (Michael LTC [R]) Melvin, Julie Bridgeford, Jenny (Patrick Kelly) Porter, and Kerry (Barry) Reker; sisters: Pat “Lou” (Denny) Kirk, Maxine “Maxie” (Roger) Park; sister-in-law Margenne Hendrickson; brother-in-law Fred (Gloria) Wolf; grandchildren: Holly Peterson, Micah Peterson, Zachary Melvin, Haley Melvin, Joslyn Reker, and Riley Clements; many nieces and nephews; and many more loved ones.
VISITATION: Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 5-7:00pm at Braman Mortuary (72 St. Chapel)
CELEBRATION OF JIM'S LIFE: Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 10:00am at St. John's Lutheran Church (322 N. Molley, Bennington, NE)
