Herbert V Fuhrman, born in Chicago, Illinois on 10- 25 -1941 to Ralph and Florence Fuhrman.
Herb was the oldest of 3 sons, brother William died in the service of his country, Herb is survived by youngest brother Richard. Herb contracted Polio as a child and would always have skinny legs even as an adult.
Herb met the love of his life, Mary Millas, and within weeks, married her, she was 18, and he was 22. They remained devoted to each other their entire lives. The marriage resulted in 4 children; Kathleen, Kristine, Herbert R and Erik. Grandchildren; Amanda, Kimberly, Bradley, Matthew, Michael, Kirsten and Brandan. Great-grandchildren, Abigail, Jaxon, Everly, Owen, Myra, Clara, Lilian and awaiting one more!
Moving his family from Illinois to Nebraska for a job opportunity was a very difficult decision. But ultimately, he decided it was too good to pass up. He did however, remain a lifelong Cubs and Bears fan and never stopped trying to create the perfect Italian beef sandwich to remind him of home, Chicago. Herb was an excellent salesman, and had many years of being the top salesman at National Crane Corporation in Waverly, Nebraska. We often said he could sell ice to Eskimos!
Herb always believed in family and took great pride in being the best provider, husband and father he could be. He could fix anything and ultimately did at one time or another, for all of us, earning the nickname of God from a few of the son-in-laws.
Herb's biggest concern as he became aware of his limited time was making sure his beloved wife Mary would be loved and cared for. We promise Dad.
Herbs final request was not to have a public service. He wanted you to remember him as you knew him, hopefully that memory will make you smile.
