Gerald "Jerry" G. Shore

April 9, 1947 — January 27, 2017

SHORE, Gerald G. “Jerry” April 9, 1947 ~ January 27, 2017 Age 69 My Dad… I know I’m supposed to write about where he was born, where he went to school, where he worked, etc., but these are just things he did. I want to tell you who he was. Above all else, he was my Dad. He was very smart. He loved life and was always busy doingsomething. He had a very adventurous spirit. He always said there was nothing better than playing golf, except playing with his kids. He was always my biggest supporter and advocate. Who would have thought a life-saving operation in August of 2015 would have turned out to be the best gift of my life. It initiated his move to Omaha and allowed us to become closer than ever. It is a precious gift I willalways treasure. While living in Omaha, he had the chance to meet and get to know a lot of my friends. The response I always got back from them usually included the words “cute” and “adorable.” He was a charmer and everyone loved him. He also got to be part of my growing relationship with my husband, Mike. He loved and respected Mike and his family right away. He told me I had found a true prince and knew my life is in very loving and capable hands. I will be forever thankful to God for allowing him to be a part of our wedding. It was the best day and Dad loved every minute of it. I think if I had to pick the thing I most admired about him is he never said “I can’t do this;” it was always, “Why can’t I do this?” He kept that fighting spirit to the end. Receiving a heart transplant was an amazing gift. He was so thankful. I can’t explain why things turned out the way they did, but I do know he is whole again in Heaven, probably playing golf and charming the ladies! Rest in Peace, Dad. I will always love you.
