Gary C. Krause (March 11, 1949 ~ April 10, 2026)

Gary passed away April 10, 2026, at the age of 77 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Gary was born on March 11, 1949, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Gary was the son of Walter Krause and Tess Krause, brother to Wayne Krause and Bonnie Krause. Gary is survived by his loving wife Lynette Krause and his two children Laura Krause and Daryl Krause, and the family cat Sable.

Gary grew up on the lake shores of Lake Onalaska, next to the Black River and the Mississippi River, in La Crosse Wisconsin. It was here that Gary learned to fish and hunt with his father and brother. In the later years, Gary would often take his own family to visit his hometown, and it was here that his children would also learn about hunting and fishing. After graduating from Aquinas High School in La Crosse Wisconsin, Gary enlisted with the United States Marines, where he served his county for four years and fought in the Vietnam War. Upon completion of his tour, Gary travelled to Omaha, Nebraska, where he met his future wife, Lynn Orsi. Gary and Lynn were married on June 13, 1970 and later had two children, Laura and Daryl. During his life in Omaha, Gary worked as an Iron Worker for Peter Kiewit Construction before moving into a career as a Financial Advisor for The New York Life Insurance Company before retiring in 2011. Gary joined the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) where he served as the State Commander from 2006 to 2007. Gary further joined with Shriners Temple of Omaha where he served as the Chief of the Keystone Kops, and later joined the John J. Mercer Lodge with the Masonic Fraternal Organization. During his time in these organizations Gary spent countless hours assisting and giving back to the community during a multitude of events that the organizations sponsored.

Gary will always be remembered for his willingness to help those he loved and was friends with, and especially for his love for a fine cigar and a smoky glass of Scotch Whisky.
