A Life Worthy Of Celebration Gaither Goshade was born to Clarence Goshade, and Helen M. Smith on October 7, 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the eldest of five children. Gaither was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ at a young age. As a child growing up Gaither had a dog that he cherished by the name of Skinner. He loved and admire his grandfather he was a true inspiration and all the men in his life played a major part in the man he became. His uncles played a major role in his life and taught him carpentry, plumbing, and massionary work. He became a jack of all trades. He was also very involved in sports he loved to play baseball, football, and basketball. Gaither attended Hoffman Elementary School and continued on to graduated from Woodrow High School - all in Cincinnati, Ohio. Gaither graduated in 1981 and from there went straight into the Army. Gaither did his basic training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina while in basic training he started doing barbering which was something he learned from his uncles, who where barbers. From there he went to Fort Belvoir, Washington D.C., he was stationed in Germany, came back to the U.S., and continued his service with the army at Fort Bragg’s, North Carolina. He continued his service with the army in Desert Storm and was honorably discharge from the army in "95. Once done in the army he lived in North Carolina for 1 year where he started driving for Con- Way Southern Express, and relocated to Omaha, Nebraska. Gaither continued to work for Con-Way while in Omaha, 6 months to being here he meet his soon to be wife Tonyia who had 3 children. They decided to make it official in 2000 when they purchased there first home. Gaither continued to work at Con-Way until he started at the Post Office, where he became a mail handler. In his spear time when he was free from work Gaither coached a baseball team that his grandson's played on. He was good about playing sports with his grandchildren and cutting all the boys hair in the family. He always wanted to spend as much time with his grandchildren as he could and that including him taking them sledding, fishing, dirt bike riding and teaching them how to shoot a bb gun. Gaither was a big sports fan and was highly enthusiastic with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Red Sox. People from Omaha would always think he looked so familiar and he would be quick to tell them he was from Cincinnati, he loved to represent his city. As a man he was quick witted, intelligent, brave, and devoted, so for that he was a loving and caring father. When "Mama," wouldn't listen he would be our advocator and a peace maker. As a grandpa "Pa-Pa," he loved quality time, sharing life lessons, fishing experiences, dirt bike riding / go cart skills, coaching expertise, and sharing his love for football / baseball / basketball. He has been devoted to the love of his family here ( in Nebraska) and for that he was our Dad, Father, Advocate, and Friend he will be forever missed and loved. It was hard for me growing up cause I was a troubled young man and did not want to accept another man trying to be a father figure, or instill some value about life in me. So I could become the best man I could be. Gaither showed me how to be a go getter and become a man. That was my father who taught me how to be a man and if it was not for him I'm not sure if I would have made it this far. I appreciate everything he has done for my family and will truly miss him and the grace that he's blessed us with. Words could not ever express how much of a father or a grandfather he was for our family. Even when were doing wrong and being rebellious he always stood by our side to see us thru and never turned his back on us even when we let him down. No matter what the situation was he always backed us up and believed in us even when we stopped believing in ourselves. I use to always say as long as I had a father my children will never want for a father. This will always be hard for me to accept but I know not to question God, so I will just ask that you be or guardian angel and to protect us as you always have. I love you and truly miss you and will think of you every time I see my baby dribble a ball or run with a football across a field.
