Eugene L Gerdes

Gerdes, Eugene L. 3/26/1943 – 10/19/2023 (81)

While Gene left us too soon, the impact he made will continue to live on. Gene died peacefully at home surrounded by family. Gene adored spending time with family and friends. His sense of humor always kept everyone laughing.

Gene proudly served in the United States Navy from 1960-1964. He was a member of the Millard Athletic Association and inducted into their Hall of Fame. He spent many years passing on his love of baseball through coaching. He was an avid fisherman and always had a great interest in politics.

Gene is survived by his wife Carol of 61 years and 4 children, Kim (Moe), Kyle (Pam), Scott (Cindy), and Steve, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence (Hi) and Gladys, brother Errol, and sister Kathy.

Gene’s family will host a Celebration of Life Gathering on Friday, November 3, from 9:30-11:30 am, with a full luncheon to follow at Braman Mortuary Southwest Chapel.
