Obituary of Esther K Williamson October 16, 1927-June 7, 2020 Esther K Williamson, age 92, of Omaha, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the sixth child in a family of ten. Her parents Michael and Elizabeth were German immigrants from Budapest, Hungary, settling in Milwaukee. She grew up there and graduated from high school there. She then went on to attend school at The Great Lakes Bible Institute. It was there she met George Albert Williamson, who was known as Al at that time. The school relocated and they married and moved to complete their education for pastoral ministry at North Central Bible Institute, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They had one daughter, who died in childbirth while in Minneapolis. When their education there was completed, Al, who was interested in pursuing military chaplaincy, found further education was needed, and they moved to Storm Lake, Iowa, where he could attend Buena Vista College. Esther worked for the telephone company as an operator there. Their son, Thomas, was born during their time there. Due to an injury to Al the plans for chaplaincy were not possible, and they were seeking a church to serve, so they lived in several locations, before a call to pastor an Assembly of Godchurch in Macedonia, Iowa came. Esther was a stay at home mother during this time, but was also a very active pastor’s wife. She participated in the various women’s groups and regularly had “special music” solos in the church. Cindy, their daughter, was born while in Macedonia. That pastorate came to an end and the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where the familyremained. She was always active in the church, participating in choirs. Esther continued to stay at home until Cindy entered first grade. At that time she sought work outside the home and began work for Omaha Public School in the cafeteria. She worked at McMillan Junior High for the majority of years she was with Omaha Public School. After she retired in 1988, she helped Cindy with the day care Cindy had for many years, and enjoyed the times she had teaching the young children. Through this she had daily contact with her granddaughter, Makyla and later Mykal her grandson. Because of good planning from Al and using the plans through OPS, Esther was able to have a comfortable retirement. For several years, she would help her sister Elizabeth travel to Wisconsin and back to Florida, so Elizabeth could spend time in a house on a lake there. Esther was able to stay independent for many years, but with her sight diminishing from Macular Degeneration, she gave up driving and became dependent on her family to get to church and do the basic things she needed in the week. Only recently had Esther’s health declined and was no longer able to live at home. She was able to find care at Arbor Care Valhaven, in Valley, Nebraska. Esther died there on June 7, 2020. Esther is survived by her son, Thomas D. Williamson and wife, Elizabeth, her daughter Cindy R. Ramsey and husband, Jeff, granddaughter, Makyla Mead and husband, B.J., grandson Mykal Ramsey, and great-grandson Oren Mead, sister Katherine Beyer, brother David Keller, and many nieces and nephews. Esther is preceded in death by her parents Michael and Elizabeth (Ruckstadter) Keller, siblings, Michael, Theresa Johnson, Elizabeth Hawes- Schultz, Anton, Joseph, John, and Helen Keller.
