WERNER, Donald E. of Omaha Age 85 Died peacefully in hospice on April 23, 2016. Donald was born on September 27, 1930 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Erwin L.S. and Irene (Rabe) Werner. He married Ruth Bliss on July 15, 1952. Donald earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and served in the Air Force for two years before beginning a career at Omaha Public Power District, retiring in 1993. Donald was a dedicated member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Omaha. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth; daughter, Judith Werner; sister, June Hudson. He is survived by daughters, Vicki Buttery of Woodbury, MN, Joy (Kem) Cunningham of Fresno, CA, and Julie (Kelly) Higgins of Omaha; sister Sharon Mancin of Old Bridge, NJ, and 5 grandchildren.
