Diane Kay (Beezley) Loftis, 70, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on January 20, 2026.
Diane was born on July 18, 1955, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to Ada Irene (Forney) and Dean Dwight Beezley. She grew up on her family’s farm near Kearney, Nebraska, running through the cornfields with her sisters, Rhonda and Cindy. She graduated from Kearney High School in 1973 and later earned an associate degree in business from Georgia Military College in 1994.
She married the love of her life, Michael Loftis, on July 26, 1975. A devoted Navy wife, Diane traveled the world while raising their two daughters, Melinda and Amanda. After Michael’s retirement, they settled in Omaha, Nebraska, where Diane worked as a log auditor for Iowa Tank Lines. The couple later moved to Ashland, Nebraska, where Diane happily served her Subway customers and became a familiar, friendly face in the community.
Diane had a deep love for crafting. She enjoyed everything from sewing and crocheting to ceramics, always keeping her hands busy until her projects were meticulously completed. Her legacy lives on in the quilts she lovingly sewed for her grandchildren—each stitch sewn to perfection, often redone time and again until it was just right. These quilts remain treasured keepsakes, reflecting her patience, care, and devotion to family.
She will be lovingly remembered for her wit, facetiousness, and the Mrs. Claus magic she brought to every Christmas - along with her well-known pokiness.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Loftis; her daughters, Melinda (Gabe) Wagner and Amanda (Brian) Bischoff; her grandchildren, Austin, Shayla, Dakota, Lena, Elizabeth, and Benjamin; and her sisters, Rhonda (James) Lehn and Cindy (Randy) Stones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Ada Beezley.
