WALKENHORST, Dawn E. (McNALLY) 4/8/1979 – 6/22/2020 Dawn McNally Walkenhorst, 41, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully after a 15-month battle with Melanoma cancer. Dawn was born on April 8, 1979 in New York, the eldest daughter of Joe and Kathy McNally.After her family relocated to Omaha during her elementary school years, Dawn attended Millard West high school and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.After moving to Seattle, Washington in 2002, Dawn began a real estate career, as an administrative assistant with John L. Scott Realty.While in the Pacific Northwest, she met her future husband Todd, at a Husker bar in Kirkland, Washington, during a Husker football game in 2002.After becoming engaged in 2003, they returned to Omaha in 2005, as both grew up in the Omaha area. Dawn’s pride and joy were her four kids.She was known to teach her children all the great qualities of how to be kind, caring and to help others. The kids’ birthdays were spent asking for donations for charitable organizations, instead of asking for presents. Dawn and the kids donated and volunteered for many non-profit organizations, including the Nebraska Humane Society, the Open-Door Mission, and many other area organizations. All of this while, working, driving all the kids to schools (sometimes up to three different schools at the same time) and keeping the family organized and productive. Dawn continued to work in real estate, as an associate broker, until her passing. Dawn is survived by her husband, Todd; children: Chloe, Caleigh, Caitlin, Caden; parents Joe & Kathy McNally; sister Kate (Nick) Eakin; brothers: Joseph (Paige) McNally, Jr., Timothy (Roben) McNally; many other relatives and friends.
