Romans 14:7-9
Life and death are both in God’s hands.
“Brothers and sisters: No one lives for oneself, and no one dies for oneself. For if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord; so then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s…”
Davy Lynn Kaven
Davy was a Son, Brother, Cousin, & Uncle. He was the 2nd Son to Danny Lee Kaven Sr & Helen Lou Kaven (Hamilton). Davy had a big giving heart. He was always thoughtful and giving to others. He loved his family and always looked out for family.
Davy, as a child, grew up with his two brothers, Danny & Heath, and two sisters, Christy Lou & Heather Ann. He was surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, niece and nephews, from both the Kaven and the Hamilton side.
Davy had a love for music. He enjoyed working on guitars, and play guitars. When he attended Florence Elementary school, Davy took violin lessons. The instructor told his Mom and Dad he was a “natural” on the violin. This ability may have come from his Grandfather, Ralph Hamilton. Ralph played violin in the Omaha Symphony.
Family vacations to Okoboji, Davy enjoyed water skiing and fishing. Grandfather Ralph and Grandmother Helen Hamilton with his brothers, would fish there. Davy always looked forward to these trips to Okoboji. On one of the trips, Davy caught a big northern pike off the dock. Grandfather Ralph and Davy’s Father Danny Sr took him up to the bait shop to get a photo of Davy, and his big Northern Pike.
As Davy grew older, you would see him working on his cars, and in the family business, Harley & Son Furnace & Air-Conditioning. He also enjoyed remolding and rebuilding older homes with his Father. One of his dreams as a child, was to be truck driver. He studied and received his “truck driver” CDL. He drove for a while.
Recently, Davy enjoyed visiting his family, stopping by their homes, and phone conversations. He, also enjoyed cooking the holiday ducks for the family dinners. This was a holiday tradition in the Kaven family, a tradition that Grandfather Harley & Grandmother Adaline provided.
John 14 1-3
Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also me be.
Celebration of Davy's life will be held on Sat., October 29, 2022 at 11:00 at St John Catholic Church, 307 E Meigs St. Valley NE 68064.
