David Arthur Plowman, 63, of Omaha passed away on November 21, 2025, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born in Omaha on November 9th, 1962, Dave was an extraordinary father, grandfather, husband, and friend who's presence filled every room with humor and warmth. His life long passion for helping others manifested in a 40 year long career as a devoted mechanic. When he wasn’t caring for everyone else’s vehicles, he was behind the wheel of his own. Known on the track as P42, Dave took every chance he could to race, proudly collecting trophies, stories, and plenty of bragging rights though out the years.
Family was at the center of everything Dave did. He was a loving father to his two daughters, Carly Johnson and Nikki Plowman, and a dedicated step father to Dylan and Jordan. To his four grandchildren, Jentry, Bailey, Stella, and CJ - he was the unforgettable “Papa Dave”, always near for a joke and a smile. In the 17 years he and Cara were together, he became an instrumental part of her family too, the Jackson Family. When he wasn’t with family, he and Cara could be found at the casino, in Las Vegas, or anywhere that served a good mimosa.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Dale Plowman. He is survived by his mother, Rita (Paul) Swanson; Stepmother, Marilyn Plowman; Siblings, Lori, Mark, Tim, Jody, Julie, Marie, Marcie and many nieces and nephews; His wife, Cara Plowman; his children, Carly Johnson, Nikki (Jon Fuller) Plowman, Dylan (Emily) Reed, and Jordan (Caleb) Staben; and his grandchildren, Jentry and Bailey Johnson, and Stella and CJ Staben as well as the whole Jackson family.
