David A. McKoski
January 5, 1945 ~ August 25, 2025
David Allen McKoski was born to Roy & Erna (Peggy) McKoski January 5th, 1945. He was raised in St. Paul Nebraska and graduated from St. Paul High School in 1963.
In 1967 Dave was working at the Army Ammunition Ordinance Plant in Grand Island and studying business and calculus at Kearney State College (UNK) when he met the love of his life, Jeanette Engel and they were married in October of the same year.
Dave began his 39-year career with Union Pacific in 1970, working in computer programming, which he retired from in 2009.
Dave and Jeanette spent several of the early years of their marriage in Central Nebraska before moving to the Omaha area in 1975 where they raised their 3 girls. They enjoyed building and working together on their rental portfolio, one house at a time. When Dave was not working, or fixing things, he enjoyed golf, fishing, bowling, and spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs.
Preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Erna (Peggy) McKoski and brother, James McKoski. Dave is survived by his wife of 57 years Jeanette McKoski, 3 daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Winter, Crystal (Andy) Horst, Stacy White. Dave also left behind 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, who all treasured him, as well as brothers Mike McKoski (Ollie), Gary McKoski (Kathy), sister Janette Glause (Andy), along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dave lived 80 wonderful years and passed away peacefully at home in Gretna surrounded by family, with his dear wife at his side on August 25, 2025.
His Celebration of Life will be Saturday August 30th at 11:30am, at Braman Mortuary (Millard Chapel, Omaha, NE). Click here for livestream
